Last Sunday I’ve been at a windows 7 installation party,

It took  place at Microsoft headquarters in Raanana.

The party was not a party as you imagine it, not dancing through the night with lots of alcohol but more of an installing win7 on our laptop while drinking beer and listening to a lecture.

As you can see the party was held in an internal courtyard area inside the building, On some of the tables there were pizza plates, beers and soft drinks, and on the other there were laptops with win7.

On the wall there was a screen  with live tweets from twitter about the occasion.

Beside geeks, beers and laptops there was also a live broadcast of  “Shiduery Hanisayon” (Test broadcast in Hebrew), 2 guys that broadcast a “what’s new on the tech scene” on the internet.

After an hour or so of mingling, pizza and beers we were called to go inside and hear a lecture about the win7 system.

well, too short for me, they show us some things that you can do with win7 but didn’t show us how to do them.

At the end of the lecture they gave us a Windows 7 DVD and a shirt, although it was an installation party I didn’t see anyone that really installed the system (maybe because most of the people had it installed already on their computers or maybe because they said that more people suppose to come for the second round and that ours is finished).

I’ve tried the system for few days on my netbook and after I saw and heard what it is capable of I’ve installed it on my home computer too.

It was a great party but too short…
